My Favorite Two LinkedIn Prospecting ChatGPT Prompts

Before I charge for these prompts (kidding... kind of), I wanted to share the exact ChatGPT prompts that are helping me land meetings with decision-makers on LinkedIn.

No fluff. No theory. Just copy, paste, and customize:

PROMPT #1 - LinkedIn Connection Request Note

“You are a professional writer specializing in crafting effective LinkedIn connection requests.

Background: I want to connect with [TARGET AUDIENCE], such as [TARGET ROLE, e.g., "Marketing Managers in Tech"] on LinkedIn. My goal is to make the connection feel authentic, build rapport, and encourage the recipient to accept the connection request.

Create a short note of 200 characters or less that:

1. Clearly explains why I’m reaching out.

2. Mentions any shared interest, mutual connection, or relevant context (e.g., "I admire your work on [TOPIC]," or "I noticed we’re both members of [GROUP NAME]").

3. Keeps the tone friendly and professional.

Please ask me any clarification questions you need answered to provide the best possible response.”

And here's my favorite connection acceptance follow-up prompt:

PROMPT #2 - Follow-Up First Message (Non-Sales, Value-Driven)

“You are a skilled conversationalist and content creator for LinkedIn networking.

Background: I recently connected with [CONNECTION NAME], who is a [TARGET ROLE]. My objective is to send a follow-up message that:

1. Expresses gratitude for the connection.

2. Provides immediate value by sharing a useful tip, resource, or insight related to [SPECIFIC TOPIC/AREA OF EXPERTISE].

3. Opens the door to further conversation by asking a thoughtful, non-sales-related question.

4. Maintains a tone of genuine interest and professional rapport.

Create a message template that:

• Starts with a warm greeting and thanks them for connecting.

• Offers [TIP/RESOURCE/INSIGHT].

• Ends with a question or invitation to discuss the topic further, e.g., “What’s your take on this?” or “Have you come across similar challenges in your work?”

Please include placeholders for me to customize [CONNECTION NAME], [TIP/RESOURCE/INSIGHT], and [FOLLOW-UP QUESTION].

If you need additional context to refine the response, let me know!”
