OpenAI Just Launched Three New AI Models, and the Smartest One Comes With a Government Catch

Did OpenAI just change the economics of AI?

Not because GPT-5.6 is smarter.

Because it's smarter and it's giving businesses a new way to think about AI spending.

Instead of one flagship model, OpenAI has introduced a three-tier AI family-Sol, Terra, and Luna-each designed for a different balance of intelligence, speed, and cost.

That means you no longer have to pay Ferrari prices to make a grocery run.

If the early numbers hold up, the mid-tier Terra delivers performance comparable to the previous generation at roughly half the cost, while Sol pushes into new territory with advanced reasoning and multi-agent coordination for the toughest coding, science, and cybersecurity work.

There's another twist.

The most powerful model isn't rolling out broadly yet. OpenAI says GPT-5.6's cybersecurity capabilities prompted additional safety measures, and the company is starting with a limited preview for select partners before expanding availability.

Whether you use AI every day or you're just beginning to build it into your business, this launch signals something much bigger than another model upgrade.

We're moving from asking AI questions…

…to assigning AI work.

The smartest companies won't simply upgrade to the newest model. They'll match the right model to the right task, reduce unnecessary costs, and prepare for workflows built around AI agents instead of single prompts.

That's the real story.

In this post, I break down:

  • What Sol, Terra, and Luna actually do.

  • Why pricing may be the biggest announcement of all.

  • What "agentic AI" means without the buzzwords.

  • Why the government is slowing the rollout.

  • What business owners should do now to stay ahead.

👉 Read the full post to see why this announcement matters far beyond another AI model release.

Three years ago Jonathan launched White Beard Strategies.

Tomorrow he is doing something to mark that. One day. Gone at midnight.
Here is the hint.

It is not just a sale on training replays.
The replay library is part of it. But the thing that makes tomorrow worth paying attention to is the access that comes with it.

Three hours. Live. With Jonathan.

Full details go live in the group tomorrow morning. Watch for it.

P.S. Yes there is a bonus. No, we are not telling you what it is until tomorrow. Worth the wait.

Campaign Launch Lab™ Challenge Training

Here's a pattern we see constantly.

A business owner has something genuinely worth promoting.
A service. A product. A launch. A new offer.
The idea is solid. The value is real.
Then they sit down to build the marketing around it - and it falls apart.
What image do I use? What's the message? Do I need a video? How many posts? Where do I even start?
What should be a focused launch turns into a week of disconnected content, second-guessing, and hitting publish on something random just to say they did something.

That's not a content problem.
That's a campaign problem.

There's a difference between creating content and building a campaign. Most business owners have only ever been taught the first one.

That changes on June 29.

We're hosting Campaign Launch Lab™ Challenge Training - a 3-session live workshop where you bring one real offer and leave with a complete, coordinated marketing campaign ready to publish.

Leading the training is Eve Whitaker, Partner at VEI Creative.

And Eve is not your typical marketing trainer.
Before AI. Before digital content. Before "storytelling" became a buzzword every marketer slapped on their bio - Eve was learning it the hard way.
She produced documentaries. She collaborated with world-class filmmakers in Los Angeles. She earned industry awards for work that moved real audiences.
She didn't learn narrative structure from a marketing course.
She learned it on set.
Her philosophy is simple and uncompromising: AI is a powerful tool. But without story, your message falls flat.
Now she helps founders and entrepreneurs apply that same discipline to their marketing - and she's bringing her complete system to Campaign Launch Lab™.

The 5-Step Campaign Creation Framework:
Idea → Message → Image → Video → Distribute
Every attendee builds a full campaign — live, during the workshop — around a real offer they want to promote. Not homework. Not a workbook. A finished campaign built in the room.

What you walk away with:
✓ Campaign messaging, hooks, and creative angles
✓ Promotional images aligned to the core message
✓ Marketing videos built from the same campaign concept
✓ Custom GPTs to keep using long after the workshop
✓ A repeatable system for every future launch
